Shares of Seven West Media (ASX:SWM) gained about 2% in Wednesday trade after the Federal Court of Australia ordered the company's unit, Seven Network, late Tuesday to keep documents in an employment dispute confidential until after mediation or Oct. 31, whichever comes later.

Ex-employee Matthew McGrane alleged that Seven Network took adverse action against him in breach of the Fair Work Act and sought declarations of contravention, compensation, and civil penalties, a court document showed. Seven Network has denied the claims and lodged counter-allegations.

Seven West Media did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
