Financial stocks were advancing pre-bell Thursday, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) up 0.3%.
The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was 0.8% higher and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was down 0.5%.
Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) shares were up more than 2% after the company reported higher fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and adjusted revenue.
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CM) stock was up more than 4% after the company posted higher fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and revenue. The bank also said it plans to purchase for cancellation up to 20 million common shares under a normal course issuer bid.
Accelerant Holdings (ARX) shares were up more than 3% after the company reported that it swung to Q2 earnings as revenue increased during the period.
