H&M Could Return to EBIT Growth in Third Quarter -- Market Talk

0758 GMT - H&M could return to EBIT growth in its fiscal third quarter, with further strengthening in the fourth quarter, Deutsche Bank analyst Adam Cochrane writes. "For the first time in a while, we are upgrading our H&M forecasts ahead of a results print." For the third quarter, the Swedish fast-fashion retailer should print low-single-digit percentage sales growth, despite an unhelpful European clothing market in July and August, the bank says. Gross margin is still under some pressure from promotions, but positive factors such as sourcing, currencies and freight should support and operating costs are being tightly managed, it adds. The bank raises its target price to 130 kronor ($14) from 125 kronor and retains its hold rating. Shares rise 0.9% to 139.50 kronor. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
