Coca-Cola (KO) bottler Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa intends to retrench more than 600 workers in the country, Business Live reported Thursday, citing a spokesperson for the Food and Allied Workers Union.
"We received Section 189 notices [dealing with retrenchments] on September 2," union spokesperson Dominique Swartz reportedly said. "The company is planning to retrench over 600 workers."
Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
