European Chip Stocks Climb After Nvidia-Intel Deal -- Market Talk

1126 GMT - Shares of European semiconductor companies are on the rise after Nvidia said it would inject $5 billion into Intel as part of a collaboration to develop custom data-center and personal-computing products. Shares of Dutch supplier of chip-making equipment ASML Holding and smaller rival ASM International are up nearly 8%. Shares of BE Semiconductor Industries, the Dutch supplier of semiconductor assembly equipment, rise 5.4%. German chip maker Infineon Technologies logs a 4.1% gain. Shares of STMicroelectronics, which supplies to clients like Elon Musk's Tesla and Apple, rise 5.2%. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
