日本央行前高管Kazuo Momma周三表示，日元近期的大幅贬值可能促使日本央行最快在本月加息。
自财政与货币政策立场偏宽松的高市早苗周六在党内领导人选举中获胜后，日元便一路暴跌。此次胜选使高市早苗有望成为日本下一任首相，也引发了市场担忧 —— 外界担心她可能会向日本央行施压，要求其推迟进一步加息。
颇具讽刺意味的是，Momma在接受采访时指出，市场对日元的看空情绪日益升温，这反而可能促使日本央行在 10 月 29 日至 30 日召开的下一次政策会议上就宣布加息。
他表示，尽管日本央行行长植田和男因担忧美国经济前景，对过快加息持谨慎态度，但如果日元持续贬值，这种观点可能会发生改变。
Momma称：“日元贬值的最大受害者是政府。” 他解释道，日元贬值会通过推高进口成本加剧通胀，进而损害执政党的支持率。他还补充说，若日元贬值速度加快，高市早苗或许会同意尽早加息。
