Stellantis' (STLA) overall 2025 car production volumes in Italy are expected to fall year over year by one-third, just like in 2024, Italian trade union FIM Cisl said Tuesday.

The union expects Stellantis' total Italian production to be slightly over 310,000 units in 2025, with passenger car output forecast to fall below 200,000 units.

For the first nine months of 2025, Stellantis' production in Italy fell by 31.5%, pointing to a full-year contraction of approximately the same magnitude, the union said.

Between January and September, production of passenger cars and commercial vehicles fell 36.3% and 23.9% to 151,430 units and 114,060 units, respectively, with all manufacturing plants in Italy recording a production decline of between 17% and 65%, FIM Cisl said.

The union said that nearly half of the group's workforce in Italy is currently being furloughed and that new vehicle models, including a hybrid Fiat 500 and Jeep Compass, will provide "significant results" only in 2026.

FIM Cisl also said that Italian unions are due to meet with new Chief Executive Officer Antonio Filosa in Turin on Oct. 20.

Stellantis did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of the company were up 2.3% in recent early trading.
