Foran Energy Group (SHE:002911) subsidiary Wuqiang Zhongshun plans to sign a cooperation agreement with Hebei Natural Gas.

The deal will secure an annual supply of at least 10 million cubic meters of natural gas for Wuqiang Zhongshun, pending competitive pricing, according to a Thursday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.

The move aims to diversify the subsidiary's gas sources, enhance supply security and lower procurement costs.

Hebei Natural Gas is an associate company of Hong Kong & China Gas (HKG:0003), the ultimate controller of the company's second-largest shareholder. Ji Weiyi, a director of the company, serves as vice chairman of Hebei Natural Gas.

Shares of the natural gas distributor closed 4% lower Thursday.
