Vodafone Group's Valuation Clouded by Persisting Concerns -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Oct 14

1022 GMT - Vodafone Group's valuation appears attractive, but some concerns remain, Citi analyst Carl Murdock-Smith writes in a note. The London-listed telecommunications group is expected to deliver solid free cash flow growth in the coming years, supported by its U.K. operations, he says. However, both German and U.K. markets remain challenging, he adds. Additionally, any developments around telecom consolidation in Germany could raise concerns about Vodafone's national roaming agreement with 1&1. The analyst also notes that Vodafone has a track record of disappointing half-year results, with large share price falls on the day of results in the previous years. Shares are up 0.3% at 84.66 pence. (najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
