FutureFuel said it has paused its biodiesel production until conditions improve and consolidated its corporate operations into one facility in Arkansas.
The manufacturer of diversified chemical products said Wednesday that it has idled the company's biodiesel operations due to a lack of clarity in the regulatory environment supporting biodiesel production and historic highs in input costs.
FutureFuel noted that it expects to restart production sometime in the fourth quarter.
For its chemicals business, the company said that, due to the startup of its new specialty chemical production investment, production volume will ramp up throughout the fourth quarter and will begin contributing more significantly to sales starting in the first quarter of 2026.
On the administrative front, the company said that it has closed its remote headquarters in St. Louis, Mo., and consolidated key staff and corporate operations at its Batesville, Ark., production facility.
