CoreCivic Expands Share Buyback Program by $200 Million

CoreCivic (CXW) said Monday its board approved an additional $200 million for its share repurchase program, raising the total authorization to $700 million.
The company said that since the program began in May 2022, it has bought back 21.5 million shares for $322.1 million.
As of Nov. 7, CoreCivic had $377.9 million remaining under the expanded authorization, the company said.
Shares of the company were up 6% in recent trading.
