智通财经APP获悉，美元的主导地位一直是备受审视的焦点，但富兰克林邓普顿认为美元仍将是首选货币。该公司固定收益部门首席投资官索纳尔·德赛在一份报告中写道，美元的地位由三大支柱支撑，即世界最大经济体的规模、市场的深度以及机构信誉。她补充称，不存在可信的替代方案，而建立支撑这种货币所需的机构基础设施需要数十年时间。
随着美国总统特朗普反复无常的贸易、地缘政治和财政政策削弱美国资产的吸引力，关于美元霸权地位的争论日益激烈。一些分析师认为，欧元、黄金和数字资产有望成为首选储备资产的有力竞争者。德赛写道："欧元区无法发行规模足够大的统一安全资产。在我看来，美元真正的竞争对手尚未出现。"
德赛指出，国际清算银行2025年三年期调查数据显示，美元在场外外汇交易额中占比高达89%。德赛写道，美元目前的疲软是周期性的，而非结构性的。按实际贸易加权计算，美元仍远高于上世纪90年代中期和2000年代末的低点，一定程度的美元疲软与其全球储备货币地位是一致的。
