At the end of September, Liangshuijing Mining, a subsidiary of Shaanxi Energy, achieved significant breakthroughs in intelligent construction and production efficiency. The 4-4 coal east wing transportation roadway successfully connected with the No. 2 inclined shaft, and the underground ash-coal transportation system commenced test operation, further enhancing the intelligent manufacturing support system. These dual breakthroughs not only reflect Shaanxi Energy's commitment to transition and upgrade but also exemplify its active role in promoting high-quality enterprise development and ensuring national energy security. As a leading integrated coal and electricity enterprise in Shaanxi Province, Shaanxi Energy was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in April 2023, operates 34 wholly-owned subsidiaries, and has approved thermal power installed capacity of 17.25 million kilowatts and coal production capacity of 30 million tons per year. The company is recognized as one of the first “Double Hundred Enterprises” by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and a benchmark unit for the 2023 "Double Hundred Enterprises."
In recent years, Shaanxi Energy has utilized the "Three Smart Projects"— smart power plants, intelligent mines, and knowledge-based offices— to lead comprehensive transformation efforts. By implementing a work mechanism focused on pilot demonstration and simultaneous digital transformation, they have outlined the direction for transformation, developed implementation paths, and coordinated resource assurance, facilitating their subsidiaries' transition from point-based technological breakthroughs to comprehensive intelligent restructuring along the entire industrial chain, moving from "sweat economy" to "smart economy."
Smart Power Plants: Building on Green Foundations and Innovative Efficiency The development of smart power plants aligns with the dual carbon strategy and the needs for new energy systems, emphasizing “quality enhancement, efficiency improvement, and clean low-carbon.” Key areas include frontier design, advanced equipment, technological improvements, intelligent operations, and energy storage coordination. Leading equipment deployment, digital twin applications, and multi-energy complementarity have been prioritized, aiming to create a sophisticated management control system that covers the entire electricity production process. This transition shifts power plants from "manual operations" to "intelligent operations," establishing a model for efficient, flexible, and green smart power generation.
Qingshui River Energy has developed a "Smart Coal Intelligent Extraction and Processing Control System," employing advanced algorithms for fully automated sampling to eliminate human error. The third-phase unit uses pioneering waste heat recovery technology, saving over 40,000 tons of coal and reducing carbon emissions by 100,000 tons annually, earning the "Best Coal-fired Power Project Gold Award" in Asia. Zhao Shipan Coal and Power has constructed a dedicated 5G network using SA independent networking technology, supported by an intelligent inspection system that achieves a 99% risk identification rate, significantly enhancing work quality and efficiency.
Shangluo Power has built a "5G + Robot Inspection" big data inspection platform and an intelligent facial recognition system, innovating an automatic coupling robot for train operations, creating a smart power plant ecosystem characterized by "intelligence, collaboration, integration, safety, and flexibility." Shaanxi Power Xinjiang has established a system of "one center, two platforms, three networks," utilizing a "big data center" that houses intelligent facilities and industrial internet platforms to optimize unit performance and implement various applications. Linbei Power has realized the first "flywheel + lithium iron phosphate battery" energy storage project in Northwest China, leveraging modern technologies to achieve millisecond-level frequency adjustment and minute-level power storage, effectively enhancing responsiveness in the electricity spot market.
Intelligent Mines: Ensuring Safety through Technological Empowerment The construction of intelligent mines focuses on enhancing safety, efficiency, and intelligent mining operations. With a core philosophy of "safer with fewer people, safest without people," the projects integrate 5G and AI, replace high-risk positions with smart equipment, and apply green mining technologies to create an integrated smart mining system incorporating "sensing - decision-making - execution." This advancement ensures intelligent safety monitoring, less manual involvement in production operations, and environmentally conscious resource utilization, shifting the mines from "man-controlled" to "data-controlled."
Liangshuijing Mining has been recognized as a national intelligent pilot coal mine, establishing over 50 intelligent subsystems within 18 smart coal mining faces, achieving "unmanned, reduced personnel" status in 24 locations. The upgraded source separation system saves over 10 million yuan annually in processing costs, while ensuring the thermal value of raw coal exceeds 5,500 kilocalories. Linbei Coal has constructed Shaanxi Investment Group's first "coal mine + energy storage" project, which features a 5MW/10MWh storage system that saves over one million yuan in annual electricity costs. Meanwhile, their Yuangou Coal Mine has passed the Class B intelligent certification in Shaanxi Province. Fengjiata has innovatively developed the "1+3+N" operational model focusing on intelligent comprehensive control, intelligent disaster prevention, and intelligent safety management, encompassing multiple intelligent subsystems covering key aspects of mining operations. Zhao Shipan's operations has established a "digital base + intelligent hub" system, deploying over 60 intelligent terminals underground, effectively breaking down data silos across more than 80 subsystems in the mine. Their 5G-RedCap technology project has achieved international leading standards, improving safety warning efficiency by 40% and demonstrating marked benefits in quality and safety reductions, recognized as a "Benchmark Leading Project for 5G Integration" by Shaanxi's Communication Administration and Industrial and Information Technology Department.
Knowledge-based Offices: Bridging Data for Collaborative Growth Shaanxi Energy is committed to "data-driven intelligence and efficient collaboration" and seeks to construct a unified smart digital foundation, reliant upon the Shaanxi Investment Cloud platform. Key initiatives include advancing the energy digital center to establish an integrated structure of three major centers: production scheduling center, emergency command center, and smart management control center, providing data support, information integration, and management collaboration for smart power plants and intelligent mines while breaking down barriers to digital resources and enhancing overall control efficiency. Future efforts will focus on standardizing data, bridging barriers between coal, electricity, geology, and new energy sectors while achieving “business - data - performance” standardization, providing smart support for office automation, document systems, party and community work, business management, and team development, enabling data to empower management operations and frontline activities. This will bolster the "Three Smart Projects" to extend deeper and further, establishing a solid digital foundation for Shaanxi Energy to become a "comprehensive operator of modern energy in China."
Through the development of intelligent systems ranging from robotic arms in smart power plants to 5G base stations in intelligent mines, and the smart digital foundation in knowledge-based offices, Shaanxi Energy is using the Three Smart Projects as an "engine" to inject new vitality into traditional energy sectors, building safer and more efficient working environments for management and operations at various levels and contributing "Shaanxi capabilities" to the construction of a new energy system in the country and the innovation of the energy industry.
