Fossil Group has eliminated the role of chief operating officer, meaning its most recent COO will be leaving the company this week.

The maker of consumer fashion accessories said Monday that Jeffrey Boyer will remain with the company through this Friday after being told last week that his position has been cut.

Boyer is set to receive certain payments and benefits as stipulated by his executive-severance agreement for terminations without cause.

He had served as interim chief executive following Kosta Kartsotis' departure in March. In September, he returned to the COO role when Fossil hired Franco Fogliato to formally succeed Kartsotis.
