Bombardier CEO Says Customers Still Placing Orders, Banking on Short Tariff Duration -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
02-07

1129 ET - Bombardier's CEO Eric Martel says business jet orders haven't slowed down in 4Q and 1Q since the US tariffs were suggested in November. On a media call, the executive says that "we felt that there could be" a slowdown in orders but that "our customers are very sophisticated." Since the company's backlog is long, orders made today won't be delivered for a number of quarters. Customers understand this, he says, and that placing orders today would be delivered in 2026 and beyond, and that the general belief among customers is that the duration of tariffs would be short.
