Meeka Metals Says First Ore Mined from Western Australia Gold Project Open Pit

Meeka Metals (ASX:MEK) said first ore was mined from the St. Anne's North open pit at its Murchison gold project in Western Australia during April, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

The ore is being stockpiled in preparation for the commissioning of a process plant in June. Power station upgrade works commenced in April and will be completed in the first week of May.

Open pit mining also began at Turnberry Central during April, per the filing.

Its shares fell 2% in recent trading on Thursday.
