Air New Zealand (NZE:AIR, ASX:AIZ) sees its net "well-to-wake" greenhouse gas emissions from jet fuel to be cut by 20% to 25% over the next five years from a 2019 baseline as part of its first 2030 emissions guidance unveiled on Thursday, according to a filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
The guidance replaces the airline's 2030 science-based target, which it withdrew from in 2024, the filing stated. It is also part of a broader initiative to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The airline will update its emissions guidance annually every August.
