Dongfang Electric's (HKG:1072, SHA:600875) net profit attributable to shareholders in the first quarter climbed 27% to 1.15 billion yuan from 905.8 million yuan a year earlier, according to a Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing on Tuesday.

Earnings per share rose 28% year on year to 0.37 yuan from 0.29 yuan.

The Chinese power generator manufacturer's total operating income in the same period increased 9.9% to 16.5 billion yuan from 15.1 billion yuan in the preceding year, the filing said.
