Shares of Dutch supplier of chip-making equipment ASML Holding are up 2%, while smaller rival ASM International gained 2.3%. Shares of BE Semiconductor Industries, the Dutch supplier of semiconductor assembly equipment, rise 2.1%. German chip maker Infineon Technologies logs a 1.9% gain. Shares of STMicroelectronics, which supplies to clients like Elon Musk's Tesla and Apple, rises 4.9%. Broadcom posted revenue of $15.95 billion for the quarter ended Aug. 3, above a FactSet estimate of $15.82 billion.
