Telecom Italia is a fixed telecommunications operator. As of Dec 31 2004, Co. maintained approximately 26.0 million subscriber fixed-lines installed. Through its subsidiary, TIM, Co. is engaged in mobile telecommunications with, as of Dec 31 2004, more than 42.1 million mobile lines, which includes 26.3 million lines in Italy and approximately 15.9 million outside Italy through controlled and associated companies of TIM. Co. also provides leased lines and data communications services, Internet services and IT services. In addition, Co. provides office products, IT office products and specialized applications through Olivetti Tecnost.
