The group allotted 6,873 new ordinary shares following the exercise of employee options granted under the 2023 Share Option Scheme at a weighted-average issue price of HKD 302.41 per share. The new shares represent just 0.00008 % of the company’s pre-issue share count, lifting total issued shares (excluding treasury shares) to 9.103 billion.
Between 17 and 25 August 2026, Tencent repurchased 4.718 million shares for cancellation, equivalent to 0.05 % of the outstanding share base prior to the first repurchase. Cumulatively, Tencent has now repurchased 40.79 million shares under the shareholder mandate approved on 13 May 2026, representing 0.45 % of the total shares in issue on that mandate date. The authorised limit allows up to 911.80 million shares to be bought back. Pursuant to Hong Kong listing rules, Tencent is restricted from issuing new shares or transferring treasury shares until 24 September 2026.
Post-transactions, Tencent’s issued share capital stands at 9.103 billion ordinary shares, with the 4.718 million repurchased shares awaiting formal cancellation.
