Champion Technology issues profit warning: FY2026 loss projected at HK$52–58 million amid component shortages and softer renewable demand

Champion Technology Holdings Limited (Champion Technology) expects to report a loss attributable to shareholders of between HK$52.00 million and HK$58.00 million for the financial year ended 30 June 2026, widening from the HK$44.00 million loss recorded in FY2025. The figures are derived from unaudited consolidated management accounts.

The larger deficit is attributed to three main factors:

1. Smart City Solutions: The segment’s performance deteriorated due to geopolitical sanctions that restricted access to critical chips and GPUs, coupled with higher provisions for expected credit losses stemming from intensified triangular debt issues and lengthening customer payment cycles.

2. Renewable Energy: Earnings fell as market sentiment weakened and investment in Hong Kong solar photovoltaic systems declined ahead of the feed-in tariff scheme’s scheduled expiry in 2033.

3. New Energy Technology: Commercial production of the Innovative Ecoglory Oxyhydrogen Gas System was delayed despite substantial capital投入, postponing revenue generation.

Management emphasises that the projected loss range is based on preliminary, unaudited data and may be revised. The audited annual results are scheduled for release on or before the end of September 2026. Shareholders and potential investors are urged to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares.
