China Resources Power Holdings Company Limited (China Res Power) reported that its subsidiary power plants produced 22.63 million MWh of electricity in August 2026, a 2.9% year-on-year (YoY) increase. The rise was driven by double-digit growth from wind and photovoltaic assets, which more than offset a modest decline in thermal output.
Wind farms generated 3.97 million MWh in August, up 17.3% YoY, while photovoltaic (PV) plants produced 1.83 million MWh, marking a 26.4% YoY surge. Hydro generation added 0.19 million MWh, an increase of 12.0% YoY. Thermal plants, which remain the company’s largest contributor, delivered 16.63 million MWh, slipping 2.1% from the prior-year period.
For the first eight months of 2026, total net generation reached 165.87 million MWh, up 9.7% YoY. Thermal facilities accounted for 116.68 million MWh, expanding 10.7%. Wind generation edged 0.6% higher to 35.99 million MWh, while hydro output improved 2.7% to 1.23 million MWh. PV production continued to gain momentum, jumping 35.7% to 11.97 million MWh.
Since October 2025, the company has reported net generation on a grid-connected basis, incorporating units in trial operation.
