Shaw Brothers Holdings reported interim revenue of RMB 18.46 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026, down 82.6% from RMB 106.38 million a year earlier. The sharp contraction stemmed from a limited slate of film and drama launches and a drop in concert activity under its artiste management arm.

Gross profit declined 75.0% year-on-year to RMB 6.78 million, while the group swung to a net loss of RMB 9.57 million versus a RMB 6.73 million profit in the prior-year period. Loss attributable to shareholders amounted to RMB 9.33 million, translating into a loss per share of RMB 0.6569 cent (1H 2025: earnings of RMB 0.4959 cent).

Segment performance deteriorated across both business lines: • Films, Drama & Non-Drama – Revenue plunged 87.5% to RMB 11.89 million, with segment profit sliding 92.1% to RMB 0.57 million and margin narrowing to 4.8% (1H 2025: 7.5%). • Artiste & Event Management – Revenue fell 40.4% to RMB 6.58 million; segment profit dropped 49.1% to RMB 1.99 million, pushing margin down to 30.4% (1H 2025: 35.6%).

Cost of sales decreased 85.3% to RMB 11.68 million, broadly in line with lower revenues. Administrative expenses edged up 2.5% to RMB 12.06 million, while other expenses rose to RMB 7.39 million, mainly reflecting legal and professional fees tied to the proposed RMB 4.58 billion share-for-acquisition of CMC Moon Holdings.

Total assets slipped 5.9% since December to RMB 418.05 million. Cash and cash equivalents stood at RMB 247.05 million after the group repaid a HK$5 million bank loan, leaving gearing at nil (31 December 2025: 1.01%). The current ratio remained stable at 6.8.

Investments in films, drama and non-drama declined to RMB 54.84 million as completed projects were recognised, while productions in progress were broadly flat at RMB 57.81 million. Trade receivables were little changed at RMB 9.37 million, and contract liabilities held steady at about RMB 20.09 million.

During the period the group completed shooting of the 22-episode family drama “Behind the Queens”, slated for release on Tencent Video in 2026. Management emphasised continued collaboration with partners in Mainland China and Asia-Pacific and highlighted a cooperation framework with CMC Inc. aimed at scaling into higher-budget projects.

The board did not declare an interim dividend.
