Tencent Holdings Limited released a Next Day Disclosure Return dated 15 June 2026 detailing simultaneous equity issuance and buy-back activity on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Tencent allotted 13,306 new ordinary shares on 15 June pursuant to option exercises under the 2023 Share Option Scheme, at a volume-weighted average price of HKD 311.36 per share. The new shares expand the company’s issued share capital by 0.00015 % to 9.108 billion shares.
Alongside the minor issuance, Tencent intensified its share-repurchase programme. On 15 June the company repurchased 1.081 million shares on-market at prices between HKD 458.00 and HKD 475.60, spending HKD 500.68 million. These shares are earmarked for cancellation.
Including the latest transaction, Tencent acquired 10.37 million shares for cancellation between 1 and 15 June, equivalent to roughly 0.11 % of the current issued share base. Since shareholders renewed the repurchase mandate on 13 May 2026, the company has bought back 20.56 million shares—0.23 % of the 9.11 billion shares outstanding at mandate date. The mandate permits repurchases of up to 911.80 million shares.
Under Hong Kong listing rules, Tencent is subject to a moratorium on new share issues or treasury-share sales until 15 July 2026 following the 15 June repurchase activity.
