据伊朗方面20日消息，一名伊朗高级官员透露，伊美谈判调解方已向伊方提出旨在缓和目前局势的提议，该提议建议实施为期10天的停火，以寻求恢复执行伊美上个月达成的谅解备忘录。
伊朗外交部发言人巴加埃当天在新闻发布会上说，伊方已收到美国和伊朗谈判调解方提出的建议，具体细节暂不便透露。他同时表示，伊朗内政部长当天将访问巴基斯坦，就两国相关事务进行磋商。
巴加埃说，谈判与战争都是实现目标的手段，“防御与外交无法并行”是不正确的。伊朗从未主动违反伊美谅解备忘录，美国违反承诺导致伊朗采取反制措施，伊朗武装力量正在反击美国，“竭尽全力制止其罪行”。
