Beach Cleaning Robot Cleans 3,000 Square Meters per Hour, Enabling Deep Sand Purification

A beach cleaning robot capable of processing over 3,000 square meters of sand per hour is now being deployed for deep cleaning operations. At Yalong Bay in Sanya, Hainan, although it is not currently the peak tourist season, a significant number of visitors are already present. The enjoyment of a seaside experience heavily depends on the quality and cleanliness of the sand. On-site observations reveal that coastal cleaning duties are being handled by these specialized robots. Each unit uses spiral rakes at the front to loosen compacted sand layers, bringing deeply buried items such as stones and bamboo skewers to the surface. The machine also gathers litter like cigarette butts, plastic bottles, glass fragments, and shell debris toward a central collection point—a process somewhat reminiscent of scooping cat litter. The robot is equipped with integrated satellite positioning, laser radar for obstacle avoidance, and night vision capabilities, allowing it to operate clearly even in low-light conditions without external illumination. Industry experts note that cleaner beaches significantly enhance tourist appeal, and equipment such as the shore-cleaning robot is contributing to the growth of coastal tourism economies. Beyond Hainan, these robots are being promoted in the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, Bohai Bay, and even Southeast Asia. So far, demonstration applications have been implemented at ten beaches across China.
