KE Holdings Releases Major Illness Guide as Green Plan Reaches 18 Years, Executive Donations Cover Over 120 Million Yuan in Medical Gaps

On November 5, coinciding with the 18th anniversary of the Green Plan and the eighth month of execution for the Health Family Shell Guardian Fund, KE Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BEKE; HKEX: 02423) released a "Major Illness Clearance Guide" to its 500,000 service providers, consolidating the four-tier protection formed by the Green Plan and the Health Family Shell Guardian Fund into a single resource.

The guide clearly presents the applicable scope, application conditions, and application entry points for the four-tier protection, allowing service providers to assess their own circumstances and determine eligibility. The four tiers of protection do not conflict with one another and can be claimed cumulatively.

On the same day, the two major protection programs each updated their progress: the Green Plan revised its charter, adjusting details such as the deductible amount and pre-existing conditions to further enhance service providers' protection rights. The Health Family Shell Guardian Fund published its latest disbursement figures, revealing that as of October 31, it had cumulatively distributed 13.54 million yuan to 304 service providers. Among them, 187 were also Green Plan members, and 54 had received combined protection from both the Guardian Fund and the Green Plan, with cumulative payments reaching 6.897 million yuan.

The Green Plan and the Health Family Shell Guardian Fund are complementary: the former has a broader scope of protection, covering illnesses and accidents for the service provider themselves, their spouse, children, parents, and parents-in-law. The latter is more focused, specifically addressing urgent and difficult situations following a major illness diagnosis. According to claims data, thyroid cancer and breast cancer rank among the top conditions in both programs.

The recent charter upgrade to the Green Plan has further strengthened service providers' protection rights. Within the same calendar year, if the same beneficiary applies for assistance multiple times due to different illnesses and meets the criteria, the deductible amount is calculated only once. If pulmonary nodules, breast nodules, or thyroid nodules are detected before joining and the corresponding tumor is later diagnosed after joining, it may no longer be classified as a pre-existing condition provided the criteria are met. A cooling-off period has been added, allowing withdrawal and a simultaneous refund application from the day of payment until the effective date on the first of the following month. Membership tenure calculation rules have also been adjusted: previously, rejoining after withdrawal required starting from zero, but now those who withdraw due to resignation or overdue payment and rejoin within a specified 24-month period can have their most recent tenure exceeding one year converted, with every full year converted to half a year, which is then accumulated with the tenure after the current rejoining.

The Green Plan is a service provider protection program launched by KE Holdings in 2008, originally known as the Lianjia Group Mutual Aid Fund. In January 2021, with continuous donations from executives and long-serving employees, the cumulative assistance cap was raised from 200,000 yuan to 2 million yuan. As of October 31, the Green Plan had cumulatively processed 64,730 applications and disbursed nearly 880 million yuan. Excluding member contributions, the cumulative funding gap reached 124,453,291.03 yuan, which was covered by contributions from KE Holdings Group, KE Holdings, and Lianjia executives and long-serving employees.

The Health Family Shell Guardian Fund was established by KE Holdings co-founders Peng Yongdong and Shan Yigang through a combined donation of 19 million shares in April 2025 and February 2026. The program covers service providers themselves, requires no separate enrollment or payment, and takes effect automatically after six months of employment, benefiting more than 500,000 residential industry service providers. The program has three sub-programs: for confirmed sudden major illnesses with complete documentation, a 20,000 yuan emergency life protection payment can be claimed within two working days; for complete loss of labor capacity or death, a one-time 100,000 yuan family warmth assistance payment is available; and for family warmth assistance beneficiaries with children, child education funds ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 yuan are available depending on the child's current school age stage.
