On September 9, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, along with other government departments, officially unveiled a fresh list of professional designations, introducing 11 entirely new professions and 23 new job types to the public. Among the newly recognized professions are roles such as embodied intelligence robot application technicians and sports data analysts, while the new job types include positions like low-altitude logistics personnel and aging-friendly renovation designers. The authorities also updated the information for six existing occupations, including agricultural product brokers.

Highlighting the growing influence of the digital economy, five of the newly announced professions are directly tied to digital technology. These include digital twin engineering technicians, embodied intelligence robot application technicians, and industrial product digital modeling specialists, which together account for 45.5% of the total new professions released. This significant proportion underscores the accelerating demand for tech-savvy talent across modern industries.

A recent report from China Central Television indicates that the embodied intelligence sector is currently facing a pronounced shortage of skilled professionals, with some regions reporting a supply-demand ratio of approximately 1:10 for research and development positions. Looking ahead, it is projected that over the next five years, China will generate more than one million new jobs in fields such as data collection and robotic group collaborative operations, reflecting the rapid expansion of these cutting-edge industries.
