The 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit opened on November 3 in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province.
The summit is themed "Open Source and Open Collaboration for a Shared Future—Working Together to Build a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace," bringing together representatives from governments, international organizations, enterprises, and academic experts from around the world to focus on open-source AI development and engage in multi-dimensional dialogues on innovation, security governance, cultural exchange, and international cooperation.
Waterdrop Inc. (WDH.US) founder and CEO Shen Peng was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Wuzhen Summit.
At the same time, Waterdrop Inc. appeared at the "Light of the Internet" Expo under the theme "AI Reshaping the New Ecosystem of Health Protection," showcasing innovative applications of its Waterdrop Shuishou AI in intelligent customer service, intelligent underwriting, product innovation, digital recruitment, and other insurance protection and pharmaceutical health scenarios.
Speaking to media at the Wuzhen Summit, Shen Peng said, "There has been a very significant change this year. Shen Peng said China's internet has moved from the stage of "connection efficiency" to the stage of "intelligent inclusiveness." Over the past decade, China's internet has completed a key leap—from making information flow to bringing AI capabilities down to the real-life scenarios of ordinary people.
Waterdrop Inc. itself is a microcosm of this change. When it started a decade ago, the first thing it did was use the internet to connect help-seeking information; today, ten years later, what Waterdrop Inc. is doing is using AI to turn protection capabilities into services accessible to ordinary people.
At the "Light of the Internet" Expo, the "Waterdrop Shuishou Large Model" independently developed by Waterdrop Inc. was awarded the "Xinguang" product award, becoming one of the most representative AI implementation achievements in the insurance and health protection track at this year's summit.
