The Bank of East Asia, Limited (BEA) reported that Alson Law Chun-tak stepped down as Company Secretary and ceased to be the Authorised Representative of the bank on 1 September 2026, marking his retirement after years of service. Law confirmed there is no disagreement with the Board of Directors and no matters requiring shareholder attention.
Effective the same date, BEA appointed Hanifa Ramjahn as both Company Secretary and Authorised Representative. A qualified solicitor in Hong Kong and in England and Wales since 1999, Ramjahn joined BEA in March 2022 and currently serves as General Manager and Group Head of the Legal & Secretarial Division. She brings 27 years of combined legal and financial-services experience and holds a Bachelor of Laws from The University of Manchester together with a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law, London.
Executive Chairman David Li Kwok-po expressed the Board’s appreciation for Law’s contributions during his tenure. As at 1 September 2026, BEA’s Board comprises 16 directors, including six executive and non-executive members and ten non-executive or independent non-executive directors.
