Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) filed a Next Day Disclosure Return with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 19 October 2026, detailing a series of share repurchases that leave its outstanding share capital unchanged while enlarging the pool of shares pending cancellation.

As at 19 October 2026, CATL’s issued share capital (excluding treasury shares) remained at 4.38 billion A-shares. Treasury shares on hand totalled 28.32 million, resulting in a fully diluted share count of 4.41 billion.

From 11 September to 19 October 2026, CATL repurchased 12.74 million A-shares across 11 on-market transactions on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. The cumulative buybacks represent approximately 0.29% of the company’s issued share base. Based on disclosed per-share prices, the total consideration for these repurchases is estimated at roughly RMB3.81 billion, implying a volume-weighted average repurchase price of about RMB299.00 per share.

The latest tranche, executed on 19 October 2026, involved 186,700 A-shares bought at between RMB267.58 and RMB267.88, costing RMB49.99 million. All repurchased shares—including the 186,700 shares acquired on 19 October—are intended for cancellation, which will reduce the total issued share count once the process is completed.

CATL affirmed that each buyback was authorised by its board and conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements on the Shenzhen and Hong Kong stock exchanges.
