Consumption Policy Boost Sparks Major Rally for Beverage Chain

Shares of the beverage chain AUNTEA JENNY experienced a significant surge during the trading session, with the price jumping from an opening level of HK$82.8 per share to HK$126 per share, representing a gain of over 50%. At the time of writing, the share price has retraced some of its earlier gains, with trading volume exceeding HK$1 billion.

The market movement follows the State Council's approval of the "15th Five-Year Plan" for expanding consumption, which outlines the strategic direction, key objectives, major tasks, and policy measures for the consumption sector during the period. The plan sets new targets, including achieving a total retail sales of consumer goods of approximately 60 trillion yuan by 2030 and steadily increasing the proportion of per capita service consumption expenditure among residents.

Analysis from Huatai Securities suggests this policy deeply integrates consumption promotion with public welfare benefits. It aims to enhance consumption quality by expanding supply while also stabilizing consumption expectations through broader public welfare initiatives. This approach is expected to facilitate a long-term transition for the consumer sector, moving from restorative growth to endogenous expansion.
