The Liaocheng Municipal Market Supervision Administration in Shandong Province has recently published the outcomes of its 2025 municipal-level random inspection focusing on the quality of camera products.
This inspection initiative was conducted in strict compliance with relevant national laws and regulations, including the "Product Quality Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Interim Measures for the Administration of Product Quality Supervision and Spot Checks," alongside the city's specific supervision plan and implementation rules.
Testing procedures were rigorously based on the standards outlined in GB4943.1-2022, which covers safety requirements for audio/video, information technology, and communication technology equipment, and GB/T9254.1-2021, addressing electromagnetic compatibility emission requirements for IT and multimedia devices.
The scope of the inspection encompassed a comprehensive range of criteria, such as markings and instructions, protection against energy sources, electrical clearances, creepage distances, damp heat treatment, electric strength tests, resistance of protective bonding systems, prospective touch voltage, touch current and protective conductor current, requirements for equipment mounted on walls or ceilings, conducted emissions at AC power ports, and radiated emissions below 1GHz.
A total of five different batches of camera products were subjected to the random inspection, with test results confirming that all sampled products successfully met the required standards and were deemed qualified.
For consumer awareness and guidance, cameras are versatile devices applicable across commercial, media, corporate, and household sectors, with core functionalities including real-time monitoring and local storage or wireless transmission.
When selecting a camera, consumers are advised to first clearly define their usage scenario; for home use, prioritize models that emphasize privacy protection and ease of use, ideally supporting real-time viewing via mobile apps and offering local or cloud storage options.
To mitigate privacy risks, it is crucial to purchase from reputable brands through official channels, avoiding devices of unknown origin, and to perform regular checks on installed devices to prevent malicious tampering.
Ensuring connectivity and compatibility is also key; verify that the camera is compatible with your existing network environment, and if bandwidth is limited, opt for network cameras that support efficient compression technologies.
Some camera models offer customizable voice prompts for greetings or warnings, which can be set up according to specific user requirements.
Consulting authoritative information, such as official product quality inspection results, is recommended to assess critical performance indicators like image clarity and operational stability.
For low-light conditions at night, consumers can choose between infrared cameras, which provide monochrome footage with infrared illumination, or low-illumination cameras capable of delivering color images in near darkness.
When installing cameras outdoors, it is essential to consider the IP rating for ingress protection, indicating resistance to dust and water, and the IK rating for impact resistance, to guarantee the device's long-term durability in harsh conditions.
