For stock investors, professional analyst reports provide authoritative, timely, and comprehensive insights to help uncover potential thematic opportunities. On August 28, Huayi Boao (Beijing) Quantum Technology Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to establish operations in Sichuan Tianfu New Area. The company plans to invest 30 million yuan to build a Southwest Quantum Intelligent Manufacturing Center in the new area.

The enterprise focuses on trapped-ion quantum computing and has already launched commercial prototype machines such as the HYQ-B100, which achieved "over one hundred qubits," and is now driving quantum computing from the laboratory toward applications in finance, energy, biomedicine, and other scenarios.

Why choose the new area?

A representative from the company said in an interview that this represents a mutual alignment of strategy and regional advantages. The new area enjoys a superior location, radiating across the entire southwest and serving as a key hub for connecting western industrial, research, and market resources. It offers well-developed industrial support and a favorable business environment, and the government places high importance on frontier and hard technologies. The southwest is rich in universities and research institutes, with strong foundations in energy, biomedicine, and advanced manufacturing, providing fertile ground for technology transformation and scenario validation. The 30 million yuan investment aims to use the Southwest Quantum Intelligent Manufacturing Center as a fulcrum to extend trapped-ion quantum computing capabilities across the southwest.

In early August this year, Yao Lin, Chairman and CEO of Huayi Quantum, attended the 5th CCF Quantum Computing Conference and the Greater Bay Area Quantum Science Forum.

How strong is the technology?

According to the representative, trapped-ion technology is internationally recognized as a mainstream approach with high coherence and high qubit fidelity. The HYQ-B100's achievement of over one hundred qubits offers three key advantages. First, outstanding performance: with qubit count exceeding one hundred while maintaining relatively high fidelity and coherence time, its hardware ranks among the top tier of domestic commercial prototype machines. Second, designed for commercialization and practicality: it emphasizes engineering, integration, and ease of operation and maintenance, enabling engagement with industry users for algorithm validation and scenario pilots. Third, integrated software and hardware: it comes with a quantum control system, compilation software, and algorithm toolchain, supporting industries in conducting real business experiments such as quantum simulation and optimization solving.

What will it do after landing?

The Southwest Quantum Intelligent Manufacturing Center will undertake four major functions: regional R&D and innovation, hardware trial production, application validation, and industry collaboration. In hardware R&D, it will build a localized team focused on the adaptation and development of complete trapped-ion quantum computing machines and core supporting components. In capacity building, it will arrange prototype assembly, testing, and batch trial production, prioritizing hardware testing and prototype delivery for the southwest region.

Which tough challenges will applications tackle first?

The company plans to explore asset portfolio optimization, risk model calculation, power grid dispatch optimization, molecular simulation, and new drug development in finance, energy, biomedicine, and other fields. It will pilot first, then refine, allowing quantum technology to truly serve the local real economy.

For Tianfu New Area, the project will fill gaps in trapped-ion quantum computing complete machine manufacturing and application transformation, playing a leading and driving role. The company will connect with universities and research institutes for joint research, co-built platforms, and training quantum hardware and algorithm talent. Using the project as a link, it will drive the clustering of quantum components, measurement and control systems, software algorithms, and industry solutions, while opening quantum computing power and testing platforms to local enterprises. In the future, the new area is expected to form a quantum technology industry ecosystem integrating R&D, trial production, computing power services, and industry applications.
