Ping An's Property & Casualty Unit Sees 4% Premium Growth in First Half

On August 20, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. released its interim results. According to the data, in the life and health insurance segment, the business operating profit for the first half of 2026 reached 55.872 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.3%. Meanwhile, the value of new business achieved 24.847 billion yuan, up 11.2% from the same period last year.

In the property and casualty (P&C) insurance segment, Ping An's P&C unit recorded original insurance premium income of 178.751 billion yuan for the first half of 2026, marking a 4.0% year-on-year growth. Notably, premiums from new energy vehicle insurance surged by 21.5% year-on-year. Insurance service revenue amounted to 171.879 billion yuan, up 3.8% from the prior year. The overall combined ratio stood at 95.1%, improving by 0.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
