Shares of Livzon Pharma (01513) advanced nearly 4% in Thursday morning trading, last up 3.67% at HK$21.46, with turnover reaching HK$17.89 million.
On the news front, the company's official WeChat account revealed that its investee, Mao Haizi Animal Health, has received regulatory approval to launch its self-developed Mao Haizi brand doxycycline oral paste. This product marks the first broad-spectrum antibiotic paste in China, designed for treating infectious diseases in dogs and cats caused by doxycycline-sensitive bacteria.
Industry data indicates that antibiotics are a staple for veterinary outpatient care, with approximately 29% of dogs and cats visiting clinics receiving such treatments. Among oral antibiotics for canine and feline use, doxycycline ranks high in prescription frequency, particularly holding significant clinical importance in scenarios like upper respiratory tract infections.
The active ingredient in Mao Haizi doxycycline oral paste is doxycycline monohydrate. Its aqueous solution has a near-neutral pH, which lowers the risk of esophageal irritation or burns. The active pharmaceutical ingredient is self-developed by Livzon Pharma, enabling end-to-end quality control from raw material production to finished formulation.
