Valneva Says UK Revokes Chikungunya Virus Vaccine's Marketing Authorization; Shares Down Pre-Bell

Valneva (VALN) shares were 4.6% lower in premarket activity Thursday after the company said overnight the UK revoked the marketing authorization for chikungunya virus vaccine Ixchiq.
The decision followed a further benefit-risk assessment by the UK's Commission on Human Medicines based on previous safety data, Valneva said Wednesday.
The company has not actively distributed the vaccine in the UK for several months due to low traveler demand and expects no product recall costs and only "minimal impact" on revenue, it said.
Valneva will not appeal the decision, citing its limited financial and commercial impact.
