Walt Disney (DIS) has pitched Skydance's (SKYD) Paramount Pictures and Comcast's (CMCSA) Universal Pictures about using its new brand for large-screen movie formats instead of Imax (IMAX) to market their films, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Disney has also met with Lionsgate Studios (LION) and Sony (SONY) Pictures Entertainment to discuss Infinity Vision -- a certification that ties hundreds of existing theater chains' large-screen formats under one brand, the report said, citing the people.
The companies didn't immediately reply to requests for comment.
