Prudential's Soft Third Quarter Makes Targets a Stretch
Dow Jones
Nov 05
0647 GMT - Prudential posts a weak third quarter but seems set to accelerate into the last quarter of the year, Barclays analysts write. The insurer reports minimal growth in new business, but sees improved trends in September and October compared to July and August. The company flags that its 2026 new business profit growth guidance is more of a stretch than expected at the time of first-half results in August. Barclays estimates a 3 percentage point headwind to 2026 growth due to reduced guidance in China and slowing momentum in Singapore and lowers its forecasts for 2026 value of new business growth to 7% from 10%.
