MARA Holdings' stock experienced a significant after-hours plunge of 5.15% following the release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results.

The decline was driven by the company reporting earnings that fell short of market expectations. MARA posted a Q1 loss of $3.31 per share, which was worse than analyst estimates that ranged from a loss of $1.51 to $2.15 per share. Furthermore, revenue for the quarter came in at $174.6 million, missing consensus estimates of approximately $179.2 million to $181.9 million.

The company's net loss attributable to common stockholders widened significantly to $1.26 billion, compared to a loss of $533.2 million in the prior-year period. Revenue also declined by 18% year-over-year, with a notable $35.6 million drop in bitcoin mining revenue contributing to the overall decrease.
