On September 22, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism hosted the main event for the 2026 National Day Culture and Tourism Consumption Month in Mile City, Yunnan Province, officially launching the initiative. The consumption month will run from late September through the end of October.

During this period, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with relevant departments and supporting organizations, will roll out a series of cultural and tourism activities and benefit measures centered around the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. These efforts aim to enrich seasonal cultural and tourism products and services, better meeting the travel and autumn consumption needs of residents and visitors during the holiday period.

At the launch event, a video presentation highlighted cultural and tourism offerings and special activities introduced by various regions, focusing on themes such as nighttime tourism, local cuisine, and autumn school breaks. E-commerce and travel platforms will also launch synchronized promotional discounts and special offers.

Throughout the consumption month, regions across the country will focus on popular demand areas including scenic tours, Mid-Autumn family gatherings, autumn leisure getaways, red tourism, study tours, night-time economy, and intangible cultural heritage food experiences. Additional high-quality cultural and tourism products will be made available, with over 20,000 cultural and tourism events scheduled and more than 310 million yuan in consumption vouchers and subsidies to be distributed. These measures are designed to provide residents and travelers with a wider range of choices and a more comfortable holiday experience.
