Qingdao Port International Co.,Ltd. has recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Huaguang Natural Power Holdings Limited to jointly develop new business models for electric vessels, promote the construction of green shipping corridors, and develop shore power networks.
Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate to establish a global shore power service network, providing integrated, one-stop, and environmentally friendly shore power supply solutions for international shipping customers. This initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions in the shipping industry and support the sector's broader energy transition.
Qingdao Port will work closely with Huaguang Natural Power on Hong Kong shore power development and talent exchange. Qingdao Port will share its experience and resources in shore power development to support Huaguang Natural Power in launching and implementing shore power infrastructure projects in Hong Kong. The cooperation scope covers project planning, technical solutions, investment and financing models, construction and commissioning, operational models, as well as training and personnel exchange.
Additionally, Huaguang Natural Power will leverage its international network and partnerships to support Qingdao Port in establishing cooperation with major ports and shipping stakeholders in Europe, North America, and other strategic regions. Both parties will commit to promoting joint initiatives for carbon reduction and emission mitigation, creating interconnected green shipping corridors to further enhance Qingdao Port's international influence and brand reputation.
