Consumer complaint platform Hei Mao has released its April list highlighting company performance in handling consumer grievances. The data, sourced from the Hei Mao platform, reflects how effectively companies have addressed complaints.

By the end of April 2026, the Hei Mao platform had cumulatively received nearly 35.07 million valid consumer complaints. Companies had responded to over 26.54 million and resolved more than 22.51 million of these. In April alone, the platform received close to 900,000 valid complaints.

To provide more precise and timely insights into complaint handling across different consumer sectors, the list is categorized by industry. It also features a "Most Watched Sectors" list based on recent high-profile consumer issues, offering consumers valuable reference points.

Key Issue: Agoda Cancels Bookings Under False Pretenses Agoda, a travel booking platform, has been placed on April 2026's "Black List" for poor service in the Online Travel Agency (OTA) sector. This month, a consumer reported booking a hotel in Busan, South Korea, for May 2nd to 4th through Agoda. They paid and received a confirmation email. Later, the platform canceled the booking unilaterally, notifying the consumer only by email without a phone call or consent. Agoda cited hotel renovations and the consumer's supposed failure to respond within a timeframe as reasons. Upon investigation, it was found that the hotel was available for booking on dates before and after the period, with only the May holiday dates showing as sold out. The platform's claim of renovations appears fabricated, raising concerns of potential consumer fraud.
