Hong Kong Stock Moves: ZJ Innolight Surges Over 11% on Goldman Sachs Stake Increase and Analyst Skepticism Over Ban Rumors

ZJ Innolight (03308) rebounded sharply by over 11%, reaching an intraday high of HK$1,249, a new record. As of press time, the stock was up 10.04% at HK$1,228, with a trading volume of HK$1.494 billion.

On the news front, despite concerns sparked by a U.S. proposal to ban the import of new Chinese optical modules, ZJ Innolight opened lower but climbed higher, with its A-share and H-share listings both rebounding this morning. Some industry insiders estimate that even if the ban were to be enacted, considering factors such as production capacity gaps, technological iteration, and raw materials, the actual implementation of such a ban would be highly difficult.

Additionally, the latest data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange shows that on July 30, Goldman Sachs increased its stake in ZJ Innolight by 3.2451 million shares, at an average price of HK$946.4902 per share, for a total consideration of approximately HK$3.071 billion. Following the increase, Goldman Sachs now holds 6.4878 million shares, with its long position ratio jumping from 5.95% to 11.90%.
