GIGADEVICE (03986) stock soared 5.27% during intraday trading on Thursday, as investors reacted positively to a series of confidence-boosting measures announced by Chairman Zhu Yiming. The rally came after a period of significant sell-off in the stock.

The surge was driven by the chairman's proposal for a company share buyback program worth between RMB 1 billion and RMB 2 billion, with the repurchased shares to be cancelled to reduce registered capital. In addition, Mr. Zhu voluntarily pledged not to sell any of his shares for a 12-month period starting July 29, 2026, and announced plans to personally purchase a minimum of RMB 1 billion worth of A-shares through on-market or block trades between December 2026 and July 2027.

These actions are intended to stabilize the company's value and boost investor confidence following a sharp decline in the stock price, which had previously fallen over 55% during the month. The commitments signal strong insider confidence in the company's future growth prospects and aim to enhance shareholder returns.
