On October 1st, Rongshi Square (R+ Life Center), a new supporting commercial complex located in Shougang Park, Shijingshan District, will open for trial operation. More than ten flagship and debut stores will make their appearance, including a robot collection store, German bakery, and other premium merchants. This marks another highly anticipated new commercial complex project in Shougang Park following the opening of Liugong Hub in 2022, injecting new vitality into cultural consumption in western Beijing.
The project is located at the eastern gateway of Shougang Park and the northern entrance of the exhibition area, adjacent to Jinanqiao Station on Metro Line 6 and Beixinan Station on Line 11, with a total construction area of approximately 28,000 square meters. This urban renewal project was formerly the No.1 Sintering Main Plant of Shougang, originally built in 1958. After preserving industrial heritage elements such as overhead cranes, sintering production lines, and large chimneys, it has been reconstructed and renovated into a new industrial aesthetic space.
Upon entering the mall, the strong industrial atmosphere combined with multiple premium stores creates a fashionable and trendy commercial environment. On the first floor, Taozhu New Creation Bureau is the country's first robot collection store introduced in this project, showcasing leading domestic robot products from companies like Unitree Technology and Songyan Power, among others. There are also numerous startup robot companies bringing many innovative AI products.
For example, the Wonder Rabbit desktop robot features cartoon character designs that can be customized, with built-in large language models for voice interaction. Unlike ordinary smart speakers, Wonder Rabbit has its own emotions and temperament, more like a personable AI friend. The Ropet plush toy robot is an AI companion that learns and grows during interaction, providing emotional value. Additionally, there are chess robots, programming robot toys, AI interactive toys, and other new products.
During the National Day holiday period, the store will also hold robot and robotic dog performances, featuring various fancy moves including soccer playing and broadcast gymnastics.
On the third floor of the mall, an "Uptown Street" cultural art exhibition created by a group of young artists runs simultaneously, featuring music districts, street barbershops, street dance squares, and other scenes, artistically expressing Shougang's industrial cultural core as a trendy district that can be experienced in real settings.
Additionally, the largest flagship store of Denan Bakery in Beijing has also settled here, introducing German bread cutting machines to bring authentic baking experiences. There are also Silver Salt buyer store, Old Stuff Warehouse, Wuma Coffee, and others, most of which are Beijing's first stores or western Beijing's first stores.
A project representative explained that Rongshi Square has a total construction area of 202,000 square meters, including 98,000 square meters of industrial office space, 28,000 square meters of commercial space, and 507 serviced apartment units. Moving forward, Rongshi Square will frequently host city-level art exhibitions, brand pop-ups, and cultural co-creation activities, bringing citizens brand new experiential scenarios in art, commerce, and artificial intelligence, contributing new strong momentum to the upgrade of cultural, technological, and commercial vitality in western Beijing.
