According to multiple dealmakers, domestic large model company DeepSeek has restarted its second round of fundraising, aiming to raise approximately 50 billion yuan this time. The pre-investment valuation target is around 500 billion yuan, with a deal signing expected to be completed by late August.
Sources indicate that the second round of funding for DeepSeek actually began in mid-July but was paused at the end of that month. Some investment institutions on the negotiation shortlist were informed that the originally scheduled signing of the financing agreement had been postponed. Currently, the fundraising plans are moving forward again, though specific investors and the transaction structure have not yet been disclosed.
Earlier, DeepSeek initiated its first round of funding in April of this year, completing the transaction in June. According to market reports, that round raised approximately 50 billion yuan, giving the company a post-investment valuation of over 350 billion yuan, setting a record for the first fundraising scale by a Chinese AI large model company.
As a representative enterprise in the domestic AI large model space, DeepSeek quickly gained market attention through its low-cost, high-performance model technology. Its series of models excel in reasoning, code generation, and other areas, making it a key player among Chinese large model companies amid the accelerating global AI industry competition.
Industry insiders believe that if the second round of financing is completed successfully, DeepSeek's valuation could rise further. The funds would support the company's subsequent model development, computing infrastructure construction, and commercial deployment, while also reflecting the capital market's ongoing interest in the long-term value of China's foundational artificial intelligence model sector.
