According to industry insiders, the Xuanjie O2 will incorporate ARM Holdings' latest standard architecture design. The chip is expected to feature a larger overall scale and deliver performance improvements exceeding 15%. Sources indicate that the new processor demonstrates significantly stronger capabilities than initially anticipated, with the latest ARM standard architecture and substantial scale contributing to robust performance metrics, guaranteeing at least a 15% improvement in IPC (Instructions Per Cycle).
IPC serves as a critical metric for evaluating CPU performance, with higher values indicating greater processing efficiency at identical clock speeds. Multiple sources suggest the Xuanjie O2 may feature ARM Cortex-X9 series ultra-large cores, similar to the architecture expected in MediaTek's upcoming flagship Dimensity 9500 processor.
The Xuanjie O2 is projected to adopt a 10-core quad-cluster architecture with maximum frequencies reaching 3.9GHz, potentially delivering notable improvements in graphics rendering and multitasking scenarios. Additionally, the chip's NPU computing power is expected to increase substantially, providing efficient support for advanced driver assistance systems in Xiaomi vehicles.
Industry intelligence indicates XIAOMI-W is continuously expanding its semiconductor development investments, with the Xuanjie O2 and self-developed 5G baseband representing key strategic priorities. The company's objective involves achieving comprehensive chip coverage across its entire device ecosystem.
The "full terminal coverage" strategy reportedly centers on the critical automotive component of Xiaomi's "human-car-home" ecosystem, with the Xiaomi car expected to be the first to integrate the Xuanjie O2 processor. Industry sources suggest Xiaomi's self-developed four-in-one domain controller is already in development, indicating future Xuanjie chips will be deployed across Xiaomi vehicles, smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other devices.
XIAOMI-W previously launched its inaugural self-developed SoC, the Xuanjie O1, in May this year. The Xuanjie O1 features a 109mm² chip area, utilizes second-generation 3nm process technology with 19 billion transistors, incorporates a 16-core GPU with the latest Immortalis-G925, and employs dynamic GPU performance scheduling technology for adaptive performance optimization based on usage scenarios. The chip achieved single-core benchmark scores of 3,008 and multi-core scores of 9,509.
Both the CPU and GPU components of the Xuanjie O1 utilize ARM Holdings' standard solutions. While market speculation suggested the Xuanjie O1 was based on customized ARM chip solutions, XIAOMI-W denied these claims, stating the Xuanjie O1 was entirely designed by the internal Xuanjie team with a development cycle exceeding four years using advanced 3nm manufacturing processes.
Since its May launch, XIAOMI-W has not extensively deployed its self-developed chips across its product lineup. Currently available products featuring the Xuanjie O1 include only the Xiaomi 15S Pro, Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, and Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro, with some retail locations offering limited supply. The recently released MIX Flip 2 foldable device utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor instead.
