WeiJing Technology, a designer of edge-side AI chips, has recently completed a new funding round totaling 300 million yuan. According to sources familiar with the matter, the investment was led by Junxin Capital and the Jiangbei New Area High-Quality Mother Fund, among other institutions.

Estimates suggest that by 2030, the global compound annual growth rate for edge-side AI chip shipments in smart vehicles and personal devices will reach 48.9% and 54.4%, respectively. The growth rate in the Chinese market is expected to exceed the global average, positioning China as a key hub for the implementation of physical AI.

Public information indicates that WeiJing's self-developed AI processor NPU is designed specifically for edge-side scenarios, enabling higher energy efficiency under limited power consumption. The chip can maintain stable inference performance even in extreme environments such as high temperatures and vibrations, making it suitable for physical AI applications.

Currently, WeiJing has developed two major product series: WeiJing Haishan and WeiJing Yuxing. The WeiJing Haishan series has already achieved mass production with a top-tier industry client, securing orders worth tens of millions of yuan. In niche sectors such as infrared thermal imaging and video conferencing, the Haishan series chips have been adopted by over 50 customers for mass production. The next-generation Haishan series chip, VS816A, set to launch in 2025, will position WeiJing as one of the few suppliers offering a full range of mid-to-high-end products.

According to informed sources, the successful completion of this funding round will provide new momentum for the company's R&D investments in the edge-side AI field, significantly accelerating its business expansion and strategic layout.
